Invitation
As part of the national Decade of Centenaries programme, Cork City Library chose to honour the courage and resilience of women during revolutionary times.
The Hegarty, Forde and Fennell families were honoured to be invited to submit photos of Nan and Mamie to be included in this unique calendar.
The Calendar
Each page of the Calendar contains images of remarkable women and shows how they helped to support their communities.
The front cover from the Cork Public Museum shows a group of women taking part in military training in the Beamish & Crawford courtyard on South Main Street. Extraordinary women prepared to fight for a better future.
Copies of the calendar are available in branches of Cork City Library and from Cork Public Musuem (subject to availability).
