CONNECTIONS

Connections to The Hegarty Family

Since the publication of “The Hegartys of The Laurels” many new connections to the Hegarty Family have been uncovered which has added a new dimension to their story.

Having connected with the families of those that also fought for Irish Freedom we have collected their stories so that more unsung heroes receive the recognition they deserve.

Many never spoke of their experiences during the War of Independence and Civil War so some of these stories are being told for the very first time.
